AIFT Seminar by Prof. Jianbo YANG

Prof. Jianbo Yang delivered a seminar on “Explainable AI-powered Decision Support Systems for Professional Services” on 23 Jan 2024. He discussed the significance of explainable AI (XAI) and interpretable machine learning (IML) in developing XAI-powered decision support systems (XAI-DSS) for evidence-based decision making in professional services like insurance claims and loan underwriting. Examples of XAI-DSSs utilizing the belief-rule-base (BRB) methodology were presented, highlighting their ability to combine human knowledge and historical data. These systems provide transparent explanations, enabling prompt and reliable decision-making. The implementation of XAI-DSSs demonstrated their potential to build trust among stakeholders in critical areas such as professional services.
