Aoshan Frontier Forum by the School of Computer Science and Computing of Shandong University
Researcher Qi Luo was invited by the School of Computer Science and Computing of Shandong University to participate in the Aoshan Frontier Forum held in Qingdao, China on February 1, 2023.
The forum focused on the frontier directions of multimodal data management, information retrieval, large model distributed training, home-made database, and intelligent education.
A high-quality communication platform was created through academic reports and communication seminars for the participating senior experts, young researchers, and students, which established an important foundation for subsequent intensive communication and cooperation.
Qi Luo gave a talk titled “Cohesive Subgraph Mining and Applications in Large-Scale Hypegraphs”. Real-world relations involve interactions among multiple entities, such as group conversations in social networks, cooperative relationships in collaborative networks, joint interactions among proteins in biological systems, and so on. These complex systems can be modeled as hypergraphs consisting of vertices and hyperedges, where the hyperedge represents interactions among vertices. Large-scale hypergraphs usually feature global sparsity but local cohesion, and mining these locally cohesive subgraphs has been an important research problem. This talk aims to efficiently compute cohesive subgraphs in large-scale hypergraphs and study their applications.
